The rugged terrain that is now Coronado Country Club Estates was state land until 1914, when H.E. Cantrell acquired a large tract, part McGrath for $11.99 an acre to A.W. Norcrop, Sam Watkins and J.P Rector sr in developing a Phoenix style mountainside golf course surrounded by homes.

They organized Coronado Development Corporation with the additional founders seen below.

Carroll and Daeuble, Architects and Ralph Davis, Architect, designed the club house which was built by Thomas Hansen and James Dunn. Half acre lots sold for 7,500 which included a $1,500 club membership. Construction of the first houses and the golf course began in 1959. The first residents were Mr and Mrs Compton. The club opened in June of 1961. The wilderness park and the magic of western sunsets as to the beauty of this area. Located on the Franklin Mountains in West El Paso, Texas, Coronado Golf & Country Club offers a truly unique country club experience.

Established in 1957, Coronado Country Club has an 18 hole challenging golf course, 7 lit tennis courts, a fully equipped gym, a championship sized swimming pool, banquet facilities and fine dining 6 days a week.

With El Paso’s famous year round sunshine, our members enjoy 12 months of golf on a course blessed with the rolling terrain of the beautiful Franklin Mountains as a backdrop and a sweeping panoramic view overlooking Mexico, Texas and New Mexico.

Located at an elevation of 4,700 feet, each hole is different from the one before, from elevated tees to finely groomed greens, challenging every club in your bag.
